How To Create A WordPress Blog On Bluehost Hosting [2018]

Having started my blogging journey on Blogger and later shifted to WordPress (after the site geekestate.blogspot.com was deleted from blog spot), I clearly know what advantages and disadvantages both the platforms have. And for any newbie blogger, I would recommend going with WordPress without any second thoughts. My first hosting provider was Bluehost, and I still suggest people take it as the first choice.
Why Bluehost? Not just because it’s one of the leading shared hosting providers but also because it’s cheap, secure, reliable and offers a wide range of options to the customers.
Bluehost offers you unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage, good support and everything you need to start off your blogging journey. The shared hosting service will allow you to handle low-medium traffic which is good enough in the beginning. The technology is pretty good and the dashboard is simple and easy to understand. Just go for it!

Guide To Create WordPress Blog On Bluehost

In this article, you’ll learn how to install WordPress on Bluehost and create a self-hosted blog. Before going ahead, make sure you already have a domain name and a Bluehost account. If you don’t have them, you can create a Bluehost account here.
Login to your Bluehost account, you will land on your Cpanel (Control Panel). Click on “Hosting” tab.
On the next page, scroll down to “website” section and click on “Install WordPress“.
Then, click on “Install Now“.
You now want to select the domain name on which you want the WordPress to be installed. You can also decide whether you want the site with “www” or without. These days, I prefer not to include “www”. Then click on the next button.
Click on “Show advanced options“. Here you can enter your site name, WordPress username, and password. Then click on create a new database, agree to the terms and conditions and finally, click on Install Now.
Once all the above steps are done, within few minutes you will be notified that the installation is complete. You will also receive an email which includes your login credentials too.
So, that’s the entire process of installing WordPress on Bluehost. It’s very simple and straightforward. Congratulations you now have your own WordPress blog!
What next? I have written an article on what are all the things you need to do after the blog setup is done, how to install plugins and themes, etc. I’ll leave the links here.
